Elk Grove, CA (July 16, 2019) –
Due to several early season rainouts, Cycleland Speedway has announced a makeup point race leading into the Kyle Larson’s Outlaw Kart Showcase. With that move, competitors will now be able to race four consecutive nights with a $6,000 payday to the winner of the Showcase feature on the final night.
“We’ve had requests over the years to race on the Saturday prior to the Showcase, which we did for the first time last year,” said Cycleland promoter Lowell Moural. “This year we have had many races lost to rain, so we decided to turn the Sunday practice night into a race as well. For those teams that don’t get to race here regularly this should provide a lot of racing laps to get tuned up for the big Showcase on Tuesday.”
Regular weekly divisions – Beginner Box Stocks, Box Stocks, 250 Intermediates, Open Intermediates, Opens and Sportsman – will compete in the Saturday and Sunday events on August 31 and September 1. The Outlaw Kart Showcase will once again include the Box Stocks, 250 Intermediate and Opens. Preliminary events for all three divisions will be contested Monday night with feature events on Tuesday night. Monday night will also see a special Open Division feature paying $1,000 to the winner and will be contested by the top 20 karts from qualifying.
